Perspectives To The Table

Michael Mosi, a native of Pittsburgh, PA, grew up in the kitchens of his Italian and Hungarian grandmothers, who introduced him to a passion for food and ingredients that is all-present in everything we create.
 
Michael began his culinary journey at the Italian Embassy in Washington, DC at the age of seventeen.  Having earned his Bachelors Degree in Hotel Restaurant and Institutional Management from the Pennsylvania State University in 1988, he traveled Europe developing culinary knowledge and innovation.
 
After returning to Key West, Michael worked with many local chefs, including Alice Weingarten at Alice’s Restaurant and Masa at Ambrosia, before beginning a seven-year run at the renowned restaurant Antonia’s. Michael often visits his family in the Tuscan town of Pistoia, compelling him to infuse seasonal recipes and ingredients from that region into Azur’s unique menu.  
 
After studying German and International Business at Penn State University, a severe case of boredom drove Drew Wenzel to investigate his family roots in Germany, where he had the opportunity to apprentice under the renowned chef Marina Boss in the highly-rated Voss-Haus on the Baltic Sea.
 
In 1994 Drew and Michael opened the restaurant Graceland in Hamburg, Germany, which Drew co-owned until 2003.
 
In 2004, Drew returned to Key West to further developed his restaurant acumen. His resume also includes Antonia’s and other well-known establishments in the Conch Republic.
